
Speaker S1: Widening participation and sharing excellence: the role of MSCA
Stijn Delauré is policy officer at the European Commission in the unit managing the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) for researcher training and career development.
He is Sherpa for the MSCA in Horizon Europe and responsible for the MSCA Individual Fellowships Action in Horizon 2020. Before joining the European Commission in 2017, he headed the International Research Funds support team of KU Leuven (Belgium) and chaired the European research policy group of LERU (League of European Research Universities). He was trained as a researcher at Bayer, obtained a PhD in biotechnology in 2003 and continued as postdoctoral researcher at the Centre of Microbial and Plant Genetics, before moving to research support in 2006 and international research policy in 2010. He was active in various international advocacy networks in support of research and innovation (incl. EARMA, Vision2020, Coimbra Group, BESTPRAC, MIRRIS, CELSA).
